Exercise Physiology (EP) is a unique service provided by Heave. Head Coach Nate is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) and has worked in the industry for over 10 years. Nate has a wealth of experience working with clients with a range of injuries, disabilities and conditions and has spent his career thus far specialising in neurological rehabilitation.

Exercise Physiology and Rehabilitation at Heave

A broad range of clients have access to EP at Heave. Often they may be at risk of developing, or have existing, medical conditions and injuries. Nate provides treatment using his wide and experienced clinical skill set, in our modern and purpose built facility.

Common conditions treated with EP at Heave include but are not limited to: 

  • Sporting related and overuse injuries

  • Post operative rehabilitation

  • Cardiovascular disease 

  • Cancer rehabilitation

  • Mental health conditions e.g. bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, stress related disorders

  • Metabolic conditions e.g. overweight and obesity, Type 1 & 2 diabetes, polycystic ovarian syndrome

  • Musculoskeletal conditions e.g. osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, acute, and sub-acute and chronic specific and non-specific musculoskeletal pain/injuries/disabilities

  • Neurological/Neuromuscular conditions e.g. stroke, spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury

  • Respiratory/Pulmonary conditions e.g. asthma and cystic fibrosis.

 

Health care benefits and Exercise Physiology at Heave:

  • NDIS services - Nate provides EP services to NDIS participants and specialises in this area.

  • Workers compensation claims - Return to work treatment plans.

  • Medicare - Nate is a registered AEP with a Medicare provider number which means following a referral from your GP, you may have access to 5 EP sessions with a current Medicare benefit of 85%.
